Postdoctoral Research Opportunities at the AI-Space Solar Initiative (AI-SSI)
Goals & Expected Impact
“Establishing solar energy conversion/storage systems for New Space 6G satellite communication”

Recruitment
  • Attract top-tier postdoctoral researchers specialized in solar energy conversion and storage, flexible devices, space deployable structures, and machine learning.
 
Affiliated Institutions & Work Locations
  • Participating Institutions: UNIST, KAIST, DGIST, GIST, Seoul National University, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT)
  • Work Location: Determined based on final matching with one of the above institutions within the AI–SSI consortium.
 
Development
  • Financial Support: Annual salary of 90 million KRW, including legal contributions (e.g., 4 major insurances).
  • Research Funding: Opportunity for concurrent participation in other projects and dedicated individual research funds.
  • Mentorship: one-on-one mentorship with member companies and collaborative research opportunities with 20 global scholars through international partnerships.
  • Training: Provision of AI education programs.
 
Important Notices
  • Please note that the InnoCORE research group is not designated as an institute eligible for alternative military service (i.e., not a certified host institution for specialized research personnel). Therefore, applicants who have not yet fulfilled their mandatory military service obligation are not eligible to apply.
  • However, applicants who are currently serving as specialized research personnel and are eligible for transfer to a new institution may apply, provided that the transfer is approved in accordance with MMA regulations.
  • If the applicant is receiving government-funded financial support for salary or stipends (e.g., National Research Foundation Mid-Career Researcher Program, Jang Young-Shil Fellow, or similar programs), duplicate funding is not allowed. Applicants must ensure that there is no overlap in funding sources.

  • 2nd period: Rolling applications accepted until September 15, 2025(Mon.)

  2. Review: The research group will review the submission and contact selected candidates for interviews.
  3. Interview: Interviews will be conducted by the respective research group(s).
  4. Final Selection: Successful candidates will be notified of their selection status.
